We are going to begin this blog by recognizing a universal, can’t be argued with, don’t even try to tell me otherwise, truth: being a mom is hard work. Like forget-to-wash-your-hair, drink-wine-by-4pm, pretend-frozen-yogurt-is-dinner hard.
Whether you work full time and dominate the business world, or stay home with your children and live in yoga pants, we know it’s hard. We know it could be harder. And, we know it probably won’t get easier.
It’s especially difficult in a culture that celebrates independence and makes you question your ability to raise your spawn if you even consider asking for help. And let’s not forget the judgement. Is there even time in the day to discuss the amount of judging that parents do of one another? It’s more tiring than an over-active toddler that took a few sips of your iced coffee while you weren’t looking and refuses to sleep. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen again anytime soon…
We also know that every Mom needs a dose of something to get through the day. A dose of what? Humor. Friendship. Sarcasm. (More wine?) We could all use it.
Our intention is to provide an authentic voice to share the ups and downs of being a mom, a woman, a wife. Through our very detailed/somewhat obsessive research, we also hope to provide recommendations and information to make this season of your life just a little bit easier.
At the end of the day, we are all just trying to do whatever works, right?
Thanks for joining us – we hope you enjoy A Daily Dose.
